Random Kayli Stuff

Hey Folks,

Just sharing some random Islands in the Sky news with...well, what better else than some Kayli stuff?

Anyway, long story short...I am fan of this guy Lokman Lam's art and commissioned him to do a Kayli piece for me and I think it came out pretty awesome...

I would love to use this as inspiration for one of the many alternative outfits for the Project IITS game.  Oooh, well...I suppose I should talk about that.  My day job as a game developer has me pretty busy but I put time into Project IITS when I can and hiring Lokman to draw Kayli for me has really inspired me to work on it some more.  Still, there is only so much I can do on my own but when the planets are all aligned correctly...I'm gonna make this game, I promise. =)

(Check out more of Lokman's stuff here or here.)

Bonus Kayli: Here's a video made by my friend Mark Kobrin, who, as some of you may recall, modeled Kayli in 3D for me.  He has access to these "MakerBot" thingamajiggers and so decided to try it out with the Kayli model.  The results are pretty neat...take a look!

Hope everyone had a nice Turkey Day with family and/or loved ones!

Sorta dead...but still mostly resting.

It's been a long time coming but it's time to stick the final nail in the coffin that was the Islands in the Sky comic book.  I know this is going to really disappoint the three regular visitors to the site...though I'm not sure my mother and myself count.  Seriously though, the people who were still waiting for the second book...I could probably count them on one hand.  Still, I'm very sorry...the comic, at least in its current format, will not ever be renewed.  I will use this site temporarily to give updates to those who are still interested in the Project IITS game but will eventually open up a new site devoted to the game project...which is still underway.

I hope that I will have more to post about the game but don't hold your breath...I'm working at a new game company...that's still not working on Project IITS.  One of these days, when Venus aligns with the Sun...wait, nevermind...when, uh...Venus, Mars, and the Object Formerly Known as the Planet Pluto ALL align with the Sun, I'll have the support and time I need to get the Project IITS game project off the ground for real.  I wanted to do this with a bang rather than this whimper...to switch everything over to the game when it was really in full production but that day hasn't come yet, sorry.

Finally, to all the people who ever bought the comic, visited the site, posted a supportive comment...to all the people who believed in us...with all my heart, thank you.  I know the project isn't the same without the comic or the wonderful art created by Genevieve but I promise not to let Kayli and Gordo die...they'll live on in the game and hopefully, much more.  Thank you, thank you, thank you...a thousand times thank you.  If we even have one fan left...I'd continue the project just for you.

(sound of crickets chirping)

P.S. Uh, by the way...this means that the store really is closed.

(sound of someone clearing their throat then sniffing loudly)

Yeah...

Update: In my haste to close down the site, I restricted comments to "members" of this blog only, not realizing that means ONLY myself.  I thought "members" meant the IITS Readers of the blog.  Those of you who emailed me directly with your well wishes, thank you!  I opened commenting back up again...BTW. =P

Not dead...just resting.

Hey Folks,

Sure has been quiet around here...even more so since the link to the store page mysteriously disappeared.  I'm gonna get that fixed in a bit but in the meanwhile, you can get there by clicking on this link:

The game is still "under development" but may undergo some pretty big changes. I'll post more info when I have it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Update: The store link on the left has been fixed.

Hi-Rez Kayli...Posed!

Howdy Folks,

Happy New Year...though I'm a bit late I suppose, sorry. Hope everyone had a great Christmas / Holiday and New Years. Just dropping by to share something cool with y'all. The Kayli model has been finalized for awhile now but the artist, Mark Kobrin, recently finished posing the hi-res version of the model and shared the image with me...and so I'm sharing it with you. Mark really did Kayli justice with his model and pose...I hope y'all like it. If you want to see more of Mark's stuff, check it out at his site...here.

Oh and in case you don't remember or have never seen it, it's based on this original concept by Genevieve...Kayli's redesign for the Project IITS game.

Update: If you're interested in seeing the model in slightly greater detail, here's a link.
